What this 3VA2 frame breaker delivers
The Siemens 3VA2463-5HK32-0BB0 is a 3-pole IEC frame 630 molded case circuit breaker with breaking capacity class M, rated Icu=55kA at 415 V AC. It carries an ETU340 electronic trip unit with LI (long-time and instantaneous) protection: In=630 A, overload protection Ir adjustable 250–630 A, and short-circuit protection Ii fixed at 9 × In. This order code also includes an undervoltage release (24 V DC) and two auxiliary switches, factory-fitted.
The ETU340 is self-powered from the line-side current — no external control power needed for the trip unit itself. The undervoltage release (24 V DC) does require a separate control supply; verify polarity and that the supply can source the release's holding current (typically under 5 W). The auxiliary switches are rated for standard 24 V DC or 230 V AC signal circuits; wire them back to the PLC input card or indicating lamp per the wiring diagram.
