The interrupting capacity tells you where it can live: 187 kA at 240 V AC, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 9 kA at 690 V. That 187 kA at 240 V means it handles a bolted fault on a large transformer secondary without the upstream breaker needing to clear; the 9 kA at 690 V still covers most 690 V distribution panels. Derating matters in a warm panel. At 45 °C it carries 612 A, at 50 °C 593 A, at 55 °C 575 A, at 60 °C 557 A, at 65 °C 538 A, and at 70 °C 520 A. If your enclosure ambient runs 50 °C, you lose 37 A from the 40 °C rating — that 593 A still covers a 600 A bus, but a 630 A continuous load would push it past the thermal limit. Plan the ventilation or upsize the frame.
Line protection and auxiliary switching
The trip indicator gives a visible flag when the breaker has tripped on fault, which saves the panel walker from having to reset blindly. The basic switch supplied is 3VA2463-5HL32-0AA0 — that is the internal switching mechanism. For a panel builder, the physical envelope is 138 mm wide, 248 mm high, 110 mm deep. It mounts on a panel or in an enclosure — no DIN rail for this frame size.
