What this 3VA2 frame breaker delivers
The Siemens 3VA2463-5HL32-0CB0 is a 3-pole IEC frame 630 molded-case circuit breaker with a 55 kA interrupting capacity at 415 V (breaking capacity class M). It carries an ETU320 LI trip unit — that's a microprocessor-based electronic release with long-time (L) and instantaneous (I) protection curves. The rated continuous current In is 630 A, with the overload protection Ir adjustable from 250 A to 630 A and the short-circuit pickup Ii settable between 1.5 and 9 times In. This unit ships with an integrated undervoltage release rated 120–127 V AC 50/60 Hz, plus an auxiliary switch changeover contact and a nut keeper kit for the mounting hardware.
The ETU320 LI trip unit gives you field-adjustable long-time pickup (Ir) and instantaneous pickup (Ii), so one breaker frame covers a wide range of cable and load protection settings without swapping trip packs. The undervoltage release (120–127 V AC) drops the breaker on loss of control voltage, a common requirement for emergency-stop chains or undervoltage protection schemes. The auxiliary switch provides a remote status signal for the PLC or SCADA.
