630 A MCCB with high interrupting capacity and thermal derating
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2463-5HL32-0JL0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 630 A continuous current at 40 °C, designed for line protection in industrial distribution panels. Its interrupting capacity reaches 187 kA at 240 V and 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, dropping to 75.6 kA at 500 V and 9 kA at 690 V — so the SCCR you can count on depends entirely on the system voltage you feed it. The thermal derating curve is published across the 40 °C to 70 °C ambient range: 630 A at 40 °C, 612 A at 45 °C, 593 A at 50 °C, 575 A at 55 °C, 557 A at 60 °C, 538 A at 65 °C, and 520 A at 70 °C. That means if this breaker sits in a warm enclosure near other heat sources, you size the load to the derated figure, not the nameplate 630 A.
Auxiliary configuration and panel integration
This MCCB ships with a shunt trip (STL) release and a full auxiliary switch deck: two auxiliary switches, one trip alarm switch, and one electrical alarm switch HQ. The trip indicator and voltage trigger are present; undervoltage release and ground-fault monitoring are not fitted as standard. The breaker occupies 138 mm width, 248 mm height, and 110 mm depth on the panel — a standard SENTRON 3VA footprint that matches the 3VA2 frame size. Maximum power loss is 162 W, which matters for enclosure thermal calculations if you cluster several breakers in a single cabinet.
