What this breaker carries — and what that means for your panel
The Siemens 3VA2463-5HN32-0KF0 is a 3-pole IEC frame 630 molded-case circuit breaker rated for 630 A continuous current with an Icu of 55 kA at 415 V AC — that's the maximum fault current it can safely interrupt without damage under IEC 60947-2. The ETU350 electronic trip unit gives you LSI protection: long-time (Ir adjustable 250–630 A), short-time (Isd 1.5–9× Ir), and instantaneous (Ii fixed at 9× In). That adjustable Ir range means you size the breaker to the actual load, not the frame; set Ir to match the downstream conductor ampacity.
Built-in accessories save a panel-build step
This order code ships with a shunt trip fitted on the left side, rated 208–277 V AC 50/60 Hz and 220–250 V DC, plus one auxiliary switch. That shunt trip lets you remotely trip the breaker from a safety circuit or emergency-stop chain — no field retrofit, no wiring to an external shunt-trip module. The auxiliary switch signals breaker position (open/closed) back to a PLC or status lamp. Both are factory-installed, so they land on the DIN rail as a single unit.
