The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2463-5HN42-0AA0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 630 A continuous at 40 °C, built around the ETU350 electronic trip unit. The ETU350 gives you adjustable long-time, short-time, instantaneous, and ground-fault protection curves, so you can coordinate selectivity with downstream breakers without guessing.
This breaker clears 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 9 kA at 690 V.
Thermal derating — don't size by the 40 °C number alone
At 50 °C it drops to 593 A; at 60 °C, 557 A; at 70 °C, 520 A. If your panel runs hot — and most enclosed switchboards do — size the breaker for the actual ambient, not the catalog maximum. The ETU350's thermal memory also accounts for pre-load heating before a fault, so nuisance tripping on a warm restart is less likely than with a thermal-magnetic trip.
