630 A continuous, 3-pole, line protection — the rating that decides the fit
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2463-5JP32-0AE0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 630 A continuous at 40 °C ambient, dropping to 450 A at 70 °C. That derating curve (–) is what you size against in a hot panel — the 630 A number only holds if the enclosure stays at 40 °C. Above that, every 5 °C costs you roughly 30 A. For a cement plant or any dusty, high-ambient environment, the 70 °C figure (450 A) is the one that governs the real load. Short-circuit breaking capacity is given per voltage: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 9 kA at 690 V (–).
Panel fit — dimensions and auxiliary options
The breaker measures 110 mm deep, 138 mm wide, and 248 mm high (–). That 138 mm width on a 3-pole frame is standard for this class — it fits the same DIN-rail or mounting-plate footprint as other SENTRON 3VA2 breakers. The basic switch variant is 3VA2463-5JP32-0AA0, and the unit ships with four HQ auxiliary switches. If you need those functions, this is not the variant — but for straight line protection with communication capability, it is the right pick.
