What this MCCB delivers — and where the ratings matter
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2463-5KP32-0HC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 630 A continuous current at 40 °C, with a maximum breaking capacity of 187 kA at 240 V. That 187 kA figure drops to 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, then to 75.6 kA at 500 V, and further to 9 kA at 690 V — the SCCR headroom you need for high-fault installations like transformer secondaries or large motor control centers. The continuous current derates predictably with ambient temperature: 600 A at 45 °C, 570 A at 50 °C, down to 450 A at 70 °C. If your panel ambient runs above 40 °C, size the breaker against the derated value, not the 630 A nameplate. The unit includes a shunt trip (STL) release and two auxiliary switches (HQ) for remote status feedback. It also carries a communication function via the SENTRON communication module.
Panel fit and mounting
The breaker measures 248 mm high, 138 mm wide, and 110 mm deep. The 138 mm width is the standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for this SENTRON frame size.
