Breaking capacity — what the voltage table tells you
This MCCB carries a short-circuit breaking capacity of 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 9 kA at 690 V.
Thermal derating — the real ampacity
The continuous current rating is temperature-dependent: 630 A at 40 °C, derating to 450 A at 70 °C. If the breaker lives inside a hot enclosure near other heat sources, use the 60 °C or 65 °C column — 510 A or 480 A respectively — for the realistic continuous load.
Integrated release and communication
The basic switch variant is 3VA2463-5KP32-0AA0. No auxiliary switch or ground-fault monitoring is fitted on this variant.
Panel fit — dimensions
Dimensions: 248 mm height, 138 mm width, 110 mm depth. The width occupies three 45 mm pole pitches on a DIN-rail or mounting plate. Depth clears most 120 mm-deep enclosures; verify gland-plate clearance for the rear terminals.
Power loss and temperature limits
Maximum power loss is 162 W at rated current. The operating maximum of 70 °C matches the derating table endpoint — running at 70 °C ambient caps the continuous load at 450 A.
