The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2463-6HL32-0AB0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 630 A continuous current at 40 °C, with a maximum breaking capacity of 242 kA at 240 V AC. The 630 A frame covers large industrial loads: main switchboards, transformer secondaries, or heavy busway feeds. Breaking capacity drops across higher voltages — 187 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 121 kA at 500 V, and 9 kA at 690 V. That 9 kA figure at 690 V is the weak link: if your system runs 690 V with a high fault-current potential, this breaker may not clear a bolted fault. The adjustable thermal-magnetic trip (minimum 945 A, maximum 5 670 A) gives selectivity headroom for coordinating with downstream breakers.
Above that, derate linearly: 612 A at 45 °C, 593 A at 50 °C, 575 A at 55 °C, 557 A at 60 °C, 538 A at 65 °C, and 520 A at 70 °C. If the panel ambient hits 50 °C, plan for 593 A continuous — not 630 A. The breaker dissipates up to 162 W at full load, so ventilation or spacing matters in a sealed enclosure. That 110 mm depth (4.33 in) is the can depth — it fits standard MCCB mounting footprints but check the gland-plate clearance if the enclosure is shallow. It ships with two auxiliary switches (HP type).
