The 630 A frame is the continuous rating — the breaker carries that current indefinitely at 40 °C ambient. At higher panel temperatures the rating steps down in a published curve: 612 A at 45 °C, 593 A at 50 °C, 575 A at 55 °C, 557 A at 60 °C, 538 A at 65 °C, and 520 A at 70 °C. If the enclosure runs warm, use the derated figure, not the 40 °C number, for the BOM line. The adjustable thermal-magnetic trip covers 945 A to 5 670 A, which is 1.5× to 9× the 630 A frame. That range lets you set the instantaneous pickup to coordinate with downstream branch breakers — a key selectivity tool for the site electrical engineer. The interrupting ratings are 242 kA at 240 V AC, 187 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 121 kA at 500 V, and 9 kA at 690 V. The basic switch variant is order code 3VA2463-6HL32-0AA0, which omits the auxiliary switch block.
Panel integration — dimensions and mounting
The breaker measures 110 mm deep, 138 mm wide, and 248 mm high. The 138 mm width is the 3-pole footprint; verify that the DIN-rail or backplate busbar spacing accommodates this width plus the required side clearance for arc chute venting and cable bending radius.
