The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2463-6HL32-0DH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 630 A continuous current at 40 °C ambient, using the ETU320 electronic trip unit for adjustable overload and short-circuit protection. At 240 V it interrupts 242 kA; at 415 V and 440 V that drops to 187 kA, then 121 kA at 500 V, and 40 kA at 690 V — so the breaker's fault-clearing capability scales with system voltage, and the 690 V figure governs its use on 480/277 V or 600 V delta services where available fault current exceeds 40 kA. The ETU320 release gives you adjustable long-time pickup, short-time pickup, and instantaneous settings, plus a trip indicator for fast fault isolation.
Current derating — the real-world continuous current at your ambient
If your panel runs hotter — and most enclosed switchboards do — the breaker derates linearly: 612 A at 45 °C, 593 A at 50 °C, 575 A at 55 °C, 557 A at 60 °C, 538 A at 65 °C, and 520 A at 70 °C (–). That 70 °C figure is also the maximum operating ambient, so the breaker can sit in a hot enclosure without forced cooling, but you lose 110 A of headroom. For a 600 A feeder in a 50 °C switchroom, this breaker still carries the load; for a 630 A bus at 60 °C, it's marginal — you'd step up to the next frame.
