630 A MCCB for high-fault panels
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2463-6HN42-0KF0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 630 A continuous current at 40 °C, with a maximum breaking capacity of 242 kA at 240 V AC. At 415 V and 440 V it holds 187 kA, dropping to 121 kA at 500 V and 9 kA at 690 V — the 690 V figure is the weak leg, so verify your line voltage against that curve before specifying. The 630 A rating derates linearly to 520 A at 70 °C (–), which matters if this breaker lives in a hot enclosure near other heat sources.
Panel fit and integration
Physical footprint: 184 mm wide, 248 mm tall, 110 mm deep (–). That 184 mm width is a 4-pole frame — it needs a full 7.24 inches of DIN-rail or panel-mount space, so check your backpan layout before committing. The shunt trip release (STL) is factory-fitted, and the auxiliary switch stack includes one auxiliary switch plus one trip alarm switch HQ. Max power loss is 162 W, which adds to the enclosure thermal budget — account for that when sizing ventilation or cooling.
