What this MCCB is and what it carries
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2463-6JP32-0KA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 630 A continuous current, designed for line protection in industrial distribution panels. It carries a shunt trip release (STL) for remote tripping and includes a communication function for integration into higher-level monitoring systems.
Interrupting capacity and thermal derating — the real fit numbers
Interrupting capacity is voltage-dependent: 242 kA at 240 V, 187 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 121 kA at 500 V, and 9 kA at 690 V. That 9 kA at 690 V is the weak point — if your fault current at 690 V exceeds that, this breaker is not the right choice. The continuous current rating of 630 A is at 40 °C; derate linearly to 450 A at 70 °C. For a panel running at 50 °C ambient, the usable current drops to 570 A.
Panel integration and dimensions
The breaker measures 138 mm wide, 248 mm high, and 110 mm deep — a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for DIN-rail or panel-mount installation. The shunt trip release allows remote tripping from a control system or emergency-stop circuit. No auxiliary switch is fitted on this variant; if you need auxiliary contacts for status feedback, that is a separate order.
