What this 630 A MCCB does on the line
The 630 A rating is the continuous current at 40 °C ambient; above that, the thermal derating curve applies: 600 A at 45 °C, 570 A at 50 °C, 540 A at 55 °C, 510 A at 60 °C, 480 A at 65 °C, and 450 A at 70 °C. A panel builder in a hot enclosure needs to account for that curve rather than the headline number. This MCCB carries a communication function, which means it can integrate into a higher-level monitoring or control system — typical for a plant with power-management software or a BMS that needs breaker status and trip data. It is fitted with two auxiliary switches (HQ design) for remote indication of open/closed or tripped state.
The rated ultimate short-circuit breaking capacity (Icu) is given at multiple voltage levels: 242 kA at 240 V, 187 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 121 kA at 500 V, and 9 kA at 690 V. The sharp drop at 690 V is typical for an air-break MCCB — arc extinction gets harder as voltage rises. The minimum breaking capacity is listed at 945 A, and the maximum at 5,670 A — these define the range over which the breaker's trip curve is guaranteed to operate.
The 138 mm width occupies three DIN-rail modules. Power loss at full rated current is 162 W maximum.
