This is a line-protection version — meaning it's configured for feeder and main breaker duty in distribution panels, not motor branch-circuit protection with integrated overloads.
The 330 kA at 240 V is the headline interrupting rating, but the real-world figure for most industrial 400 V-class systems is 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V. At 500 V it's still 187 kA. For a main breaker on a 480 V panel in North America or a 400 V panel in Europe, the 242 kA at 415 V gives ample headroom for typical transformer-fed fault levels up to 200 kA. The 630 A continuous rating derates with ambient temperature: 630 A at 40 °C, 600 A at 45 °C, 570 A at 50 °C, down to 450 A at 70 °C.
ETU850 trip unit — what adjusts
The electronic trip unit ETU850 gives adjustable long-time pickup (Ir), short-time pickup (Sd), and instantaneous (Ii) settings, plus ground-fault protection is not included on this variant — the ground fault monitoring version is listed as 'Without'. The adjustable response time for short-time delay (tsd) ranges from 0 to 0.5 s, and the long-time ramp (tr) adjusts from 0.5 to 12 seconds. Communication function is present, so the breaker can report status and trip events over the SENTRON bus system — useful for a power-monitoring scheme in a critical distribution panel.
