It carries a rated continuous current Iu of 1000 A and is built around the ETU320 electronic overcurrent release, which gives adjustable long-time pickup (Ir) from 400 A to 1000 A and instantaneous pickup (Ii) from 1500 A to 10 000 A. The 800 V rated insulation voltage (Ui) and the breaking capacities — 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V, 53 kA at 690 V — place it in the high-interrupting category for main feeders or large sub-distribution in industrial switchboards.
Thermal derating and continuous duty
The breaker is rated to carry 1000 A continuously at ambient temperatures up to 55 °C. At 60 °C the continuous rating drops to 955 A, at 65 °C to 885 A, and at 70 °C to 815 A. This derating curve matters when the breaker is installed in a warm enclosure or alongside other heat-generating devices; the maximum power loss of 123 W contributes to the internal heat rise that must be considered in the panel thermal design.
The breaker measures 280 mm wide by 320 mm high by 120 mm deep (11 in × 12.6 in × 4.7 in). It is designed for fixed mounting in a switchboard or enclosure — no DIN-rail clip. The 4-pole configuration with adjustable N-conductor protection (OFF, 50%, or 100% of phase current) suits it for 3-phase + neutral systems where the neutral conductor may need protection or may be deliberately left unprotected.
