The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2510-5HM42-0AA0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 1000 A continuous current (Iu) at 40 °C, with an ETU330 electronic overcurrent release.
Rated breaking capacity (Icu) is 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 52.5 kA at 690 V. At 415 V — the common European low-voltage distribution level — 121 kA gives you substantial headroom above typical utility fault levels (usually 25–50 kA), so you can design selective coordination downstream without worrying about the main breaker opening on a fault that a branch breaker should clear.
Thermal derating and continuous current
At 60 °C it derates to 955 A, at 65 °C to 885 A, and at 70 °C to 815 A.
Trip unit and protection functions
Ground-fault monitoring uses summation current formation on L + N conductors. N-conductor protection is adjustable: OFF, 50%, or 100% of the phase rating.
Dimensions: 280 mm wide, 320 mm high, 120 mm deep. The 280 mm width is the critical dimension for panel layout.
