What the ratings mean for fit
The 3VA2510-5HN32-0KC0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for 1000 A continuous current (Iu) at up to 55 °C ambient — no derating needed in a typical 40 °C panel. Above that, the curve drops: 955 A at 60 °C, 885 A at 65 °C, 815 A at 70 °C. If your enclosure runs hot, size the breaker for the actual ambient, not the nameplate. Short-circuit breaking capacity is 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V, and 53 kA at 690 V. That 187 kA at 240 V is high — it handles faults on large transformer secondaries or high-capacity busways without cascading upstream. The 121 kA at 415 V covers most industrial distribution panels in North America and Europe. The ETU350 electronic trip unit gives you adjustable long-time pickup (Ir) from 0.5 to 1.0 × Iu (500–1000 A), short-time delay (tsd) from 0.04 to 0.4 s, and instantaneous pickup (Ii) up to 10 000 A. That range lets you coordinate selectively with downstream breakers — critical for a main or feeder position where you want a fault isolated to the branch, not a whole-bus blackout.
Panel integration notes
Dimensions are 210 mm wide, 320 mm high, 120 mm deep — a standard MCCB footprint for this current class. The front face carries an IP40 rating, so it is suited for enclosed panel mounting where tools or fingers won't contact live parts. No communication module on this variant; it is a standalone line-protection breaker.
