What this 3VA2 breaker carries
The Siemens 3VA2510-5KQ42-0DJ0 is a 4-pole IEC frame 1000 circuit breaker in breaking capacity class M, rated Icu=55kA at 415 V AC. It ships with an ETU860 electronic trip unit configured for LSIG protection — long-time, short-time, instantaneous, and ground-fault — with an In=1000 A continuous current rating and overload protection adjustable from Ir=400 A up to 1000 A. Short-circuit protection ranges Isd=0.6 to 10× In and Ii=1.5 to 10× In. The neutral conductor protection is adjustable (OFF up to 100%), and ground-fault protection can be switched off with Ig adjustable from 0.2 to 1× In and a time delay tg=0.05 to 0.8 s. An integrated undervoltage release rated 208-230 V AC 50/60 Hz is included as an accessory for the 3VA1 platform.
The ETU860 LSIG trip unit gives selective coordination capability: the adjustable short-time pickup and delay (Isd, tg) let you set the breaker to ride through downstream faults, clearing only the faulted branch. The ground-fault element (Ig adjustable 0.2–1× In, tg 0.05–0.8 s) is switchable, useful for systems where GFP is not required or conflicts with upstream coordination. The undervoltage release (208-230 V AC) provides automatic tripping on loss of control voltage, a common requirement for safety circuits in conveyor and process lines.
