What this 1000 A MCCB does for a line-down call
It's built for line protection — main feeder or large downstream distribution — not motor protection. The interrupting ratings are serious: 242 kA at 240 V, 187 kA at 415 V, 74 kA at 690 V. That SCCR headroom means it can live upstream of a fault without cascading, which is exactly what you want when the main breaker is the only thing between a bolted fault and a whole panel replacement. Thermal derating stays flat at 1000 A all the way to 55 °C. At 60 °C it drops to 955 A, at 70 °C to 815 A. The ETU350 release gives you adjustable Ir from 0.5 to 1.0 × In, plus adjustable short-time (tsd 0.04–0.4 s) and instantaneous (li up to 10 000 A). That's enough flexibility to coordinate with downstream breakers without a separate relay.
Panel fit — 320 × 210 × 120 mm
Footprint: 320 mm tall, 210 mm wide, 120 mm deep. That 210 mm width is a standard 8.3-inch form factor for this amp class. The IP40 front protection means it's splash-safe on the face but not sealed for washdown — this is a panel-mount breaker, not a standalone enclosure.
