630 A MCCB with 187 kA interrupting capacity — motor protection variant
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2563-5MN32-0AG0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 630 A continuous current at 40 °C through 70 °C with no derating — that full rating holds across the entire ambient span, so you don't lose headroom in a warm panel. It carries 187 kA interrupting capacity at 240 V, 121 kA at 415/440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 52.5 kA at 690 V, giving it the SCCR to sit upstream of a distribution board or feed a large motor control center without cascading coordination issues. This is the motor protection version — it includes phase failure detection, so it will trip on loss of a phase before the motor single-phases and cooks the winding. The product version is explicitly Motor protection, not a plain thermal-magnetic or electronic-only release. The auxiliary contact configuration ships with 1 auxiliary switch plus 1 trip alarm switch HP — that gives you a separate signal for the breaker tripped state, useful for remote annunciation in a PLC or SCADA system. Mounts in a standard panel or enclosure — dimensions are 320 mm height, 210 mm width, 120 mm depth.
What the interrupting ratings mean for coordination
At 690 V it still handles 52.5 kA, which is substantial for a 630 A frame.
Integration notes for panel builders
The 3-pole frame draws 210 mm of DIN-rail width — plan the backpanel layout accordingly. The trip indicator is present (mechanical flag), and the auxiliary switch + trip alarm combo gives you two discrete outputs for status feedback.
