Siemens SENTRON 3VA2580-5HL32-0HL0 — 800 A MCCB with ETU320 Trip Unit
It carries an ETU320 electronic overcurrent release with adjustable long-time (Ir) from 320 A to 800 A and instantaneous (Ii) from 1200 A to 8000 A, giving you selectivity tuning for feeder and main breaker coordination. Breaking capacity reaches 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V, and 53 kA at 690 V — enough headroom for high-fault utility connections or transformer secondaries without cascading upstream.
Above 65 °C it steps down to 767 A at 65 °C and 703 A at 70 °C, so if your panel runs hot from adjacent drives or transformers, factor that curve into the breaker selection. The ETU320 trip unit gives you a 2.5:1 Ir adjustment range (320–800 A), which lets you down-rate the breaker for a 600 A feeder without swapping hardware. The Ii pickup range (1200–8000 A) covers motor inrush and transformer magnetizing currents; set it above the worst-case asymmetric peak of the downstream load.
Dimensions are 320 mm height, 210 mm width, 120 mm depth — a standard SENTRON 3VA frame size for 800 A. The breaker mounts via four screws to a backplate or mounting bracket inside the enclosure; it does not snap onto DIN rail at this frame size. Allow front-access clearance for the rotary handle and the ETU320 interface panel.
The 3VA series carries IEC 60947-2 certification (the governing standard for MCCBs) and UL 489 listing for the North American market. RoHS and REACH compliance documentation is available from Siemens on request — standard for current-production SENTRON breakers.
