800 A MCCB with ETU320 — line protection for high-fault panels
It is configured for line protection — meaning the trip curve and accessories are set for feeder or main breaker duty rather than motor protection. The 800 A rating holds up to 60 °C ambient; at 65 °C it derates to 767 A, and at 70 °C to 703 A, so panel placement near heat sources needs a thermal check. Breaking capacity is 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V, and 53 kA at 690 V — figures that cover most industrial low-voltage distribution fault levels without cascading upstream. The ETU320 offers adjustable long-time pickup (Ig) from 800 A to 8000 A, short-time pickup (Ii) from 1200 A to 8000 A, and a time delay tr adjustable from 0.5 to 17 seconds, giving the commissioning engineer room to coordinate selectively with downstream breakers.
Panel fit — dimensions and IP40 front
The breaker measures 280 mm wide, 320 mm high, and 120 mm deep. The 280 mm width (11 in) is the critical dimension for multi-breaker lineups — verify the mounting plate or busbar riser spacing accommodates it. IP40 on the front means tools or fingers are blocked, but the enclosure itself must keep out dust and moisture; this is a panel-interior device, not a washdown-rated standalone.
Neutral protection and communication options
The N-conductor protection is adjustable OFF, 50%, or 100% of the phase pickup — no separate neutral CT upgrade is available for this variant. Communication function is not fitted; if remote monitoring or trip-data logging is needed, a different 3VA variant with integrated communication or an external module is required.
