MCCB for high-fault main feeders
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2580-5KQ32-0AD0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 800 A continuous current at 40 °C, with a 187 kA interrupting capacity at 240 V — enough to sit at the main disconnect on a large industrial switchboard where fault currents are high. The ETU860 electronic trip unit gives you adjustable long-time (tr 0.5–25 s), short-time (tsd 0.05–0.5 s), and instantaneous pickup, plus ground-fault summation sensing on the line conductors. That level of coordination flexibility is what you need for selective tripping downstream of a transformer or generator.
That thermal headroom means you don't have to oversize the frame for a 50 °C switchroom.
Panel fit and communication
Communication function is built in, meaning the ETU860 can talk to a higher-level system for power monitoring and remote trip indication — no separate add-on module needed for basic data.
