IEC Frame 1000, 55 kA @ 415 V — selectivity and SCCR headroom
The Siemens 3VA2580-5KQ42-0AH0 is a 4-pole circuit breaker on the 3VA2 IEC frame 1000 platform, rated Icu = 55 kA at 415 V under breaking capacity class M. The ETU860 trip unit provides LSIG protection: long-time (L) adjustable Ir = 320 A to 800 A for overload, short-time (S) Isd = 0.6 to 10× In with adjustable delay, instantaneous (I) Ii = 1.5 to 12× In, and ground-fault (G) Ig = 0.2 to 1× In with time delay tg = 0.05 to 0.8 s. Neutral conductor protection is independently adjustable (OFF, up to 160% of In). This level of configurability lets a site electrical engineer coordinate downstream feeders while keeping the main breaker selective.
The 2 auxiliary switch changeover H and 1 trip alarm switch changeover provide remote status feedback for PLC or SCADA inputs, eliminating the need for separate limit switches on the breaker mechanism.
