Motor protection breaker with ETU860M, 800 A frame
The Siemens 3VA2580-5MQ32-0KB0 is a 3-pole IEC frame 1000 circuit breaker in breaking capacity class M, rated Icu=55kA at 415 V. It carries the ETU860M trip unit with LSIG protection (long-time, short-time, instantaneous, ground fault) and an 800 A nominal rating. Overload protection Ir is adjustable from 320 A to 800 A; short-circuit protection Isd ranges 1.2–15 × In, and Ii 3–15 × In. Ground-fault protection Ig is switchable off or set 0.2–1 × In with time delay tg 0.05–0.8 s. The left-side shunt trip operates on 208–277 V AC 50/60 Hz or 220–250 V DC. Two auxiliary changeover switches are included.
The 800 A frame requires busbar or cable connections sized for the continuous current. The shunt trip and auxiliary switches are pre-installed on the left side, reducing wiring time during panel build-out. Ground-fault protection can be switched off if not needed in the application, simplifying coordination in selective systems.
