What this 800 A MCCB delivers
It's configured for line protection — meaning it's the primary overcurrent and short-circuit guard for a feeder or large load, not a motor-protection device with integrated overload class. The interrupting capacity hits 242 kA at 240 V, 187 kA at 415 V, and still holds 74 kA at 690 V, so it handles high-fault-current scenarios like transformer secondaries or large bus risers without cascading upstream. The ETU350 trip unit gives you adjustable long-time pickup (Ir) from 0.5 to 1.0 x Iu, meaning you can set the continuous-current threshold anywhere from 400 A to 800 A to match the actual load. Short-time pickup (Isd) and instantaneous pickup (Ii) are also field-adjustable, with Ii reaching up to 8000 A. That flexibility lets you coordinate selectively with downstream breakers — a real advantage in a multi-level distribution panel where you want the fault cleared closest to the load, not the main.
