What this breaker is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA4112-5ED24-3AA0 is a 2-pole molded case circuit breaker in the 3VA4 UL Frame 125 series, rated 125 A continuous with a 35 kA interrupting capacity at 480 V. That interrupting rating means it can safely clear a bolted fault up to 35,000 A on a 480 V line without welding contacts or venting gas into the panel — critical for SCCR compliance on a distribution board or as a main disconnect on a machine. The TM210 thermal-magnetic trip unit gives fixed overload protection at 125 A (Ir = 125 A, permanently set) and a fixed short-circuit pickup at 10× In (Ii = 10 × 125 A = 1250 A), so it's a straight swap-in for a line-protection application where you don't need adjustable trip settings. This is a Class C product — manufactured or produced to order, not a stocked shelf item. That means the unit is built to your order, so the packaging dimensions (472 × 396 × 213 mm) reflect a single-piece shipment, and the part cannot be returned for credit once ordered. Plan your BOM freeze accordingly.
Lifecycle and compliance
RoHS compliance is confirmed since May 2019. REACH Article 33 disclosure notes lead (CAS 7439-92-1) above 0.1% w/w in the current candidate list — standard for electrical contacts and solder joints in this class. Export control is AL:N / ECCN:EAR99, no special license required for most destinations.
