What this breaker is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA4145-6ED34-3AA0 is a 3-pole molded-case circuit breaker from the 3VA4 series, built on a UL Frame 125 platform. It is rated for 65 kA interrupting capacity at 480 V, placing it in the high-breaking-capacity class H. The thermal-magnetic trip unit is a TM210, with the thermal overload fixed at Ir = 45 A and the magnetic short-circuit pickup fixed at Ii = 10 × In (450 A). This is a line-protection breaker — it guards feeder and branch circuits against overload and short-circuit faults, not motor-protection duty.
Compliance and documentation
RoHS compliance is confirmed since 13-05-19. The part also carries a REACH Article 33 duty-to-inform notification for lead (CAS-No. 7439-92-1) above 0.1% w/w. Export control classifications are AL: N and ECCN: EAR99, meaning no special licensing is required for most destinations.
Panel integration notes
Packaged dimensions are 472 × 396 × 213 mm. The 3VA4 frame mounts in standard panel cutouts for UL 125 A frame breakers. Verify gland-plate clearance for the outgoing cables — the fixed thermal setting at 45 A suggests a conductor sized for 45 A continuous, but the 65 kA SCCR at 480 V means the upstream fault-current capability must be coordinated.
