What this breaker is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA4170-5ED14-3AA0 is a 1-pole circuit breaker from the 3VA4 series, UL Frame 125, rated 70 A continuous with a 35 kA interrupting capacity at 277 V. The TM210 thermal-magnetic trip unit is fixed at Ir=70 A overload protection and Ii=10 x In short-circuit protection — no field-adjustable dials, so what you order is what protects the branch. That 35 kA @ 277 V means it safely clears a fault up to that level on a 277/480 V wye panel without upstream coordination worries.
