Motor operator for 3VA1 160 — what it does and what fits
The Siemens 3VA9157-0HA20 is a motorized operating mechanism (MO) accessory for the SENTRON 3VA1 160 molded-case circuit breaker. It lets you open or close the breaker remotely via a control signal — useful for emergency-stop circuits, automated load shedding, or any panel where you need to cycle the breaker without a human reaching the handle. The control supply accepts 110–230 V AC (60 Hz) or 110–250 V DC, drawing 250 VA apparent power. Make and break times are both 0.8 s — fast enough for most remote-trip sequences but not a high-speed transfer switch. The operating voltage is rated up to 250 V, so it stays within the control-circuit range typical for industrial panels. Mounts directly onto the 3VA1 160 frame; the 76 mm width and 103 mm depth mean it adds about a handspan of depth behind the panel door. Stripped length of 7 mm on the control wiring matches standard ferrule preparation. Ambient range from -40 °C to 80 °C covers most indoor and outdoor enclosure environments.
