The Siemens 3VA9447-0FK45 is a door-coupling rotary operating mechanism from the SENTRON accessory range, designed for emergency-off (E-stop) applications on 3VA5 and 3VA6 molded-case circuit breakers in the 400 A and 600 A frame sizes. It mounts through the enclosure door, giving the operator a single rotary handle on the outside while the breaker stays inside the sealed panel. Rated IP65 (NEMA 4, 4X), the mechanism keeps the enclosure sealed against hose-directed water and corrosion — suitable for washdown environments in food processing, chemical plants, or outdoor installations where a standard rotary operator would let moisture into the breaker compartment. The door interlock and door-open position accessory (included) prevent opening the panel door when the breaker is ON, and allow the breaker to be tripped remotely via the handle even with the door open for maintenance access.
Panel integration
The mechanism measures 138 mm wide by 94 mm high — fits a standard door cutout for the 3VA5/6 frame range. The handle protrudes through the door; the rear coupling engages the breaker's rotary operating shaft. Mounting hardware and door-interlock linkage are included in the assembly.
IP65 means the operator body and the door seal withstand direct hose spray (12.5 mm nozzle at 30 kPa from any direction) — not just dust-tight but protected against water jets. NEMA 4X adds corrosion resistance (stainless steel hardware or equivalent), so it holds up in washdown or coastal atmospheres where standard painted steel would rust. The door-interlocking feature is the key differentiator from a simple rotary handle: it forces the operator to trip the breaker before the door can open, which is a common safety requirement for panel access in machinery (EN 60204-1 section 6.2.3). The door-open position accessory lets a technician trip the breaker from outside with the door ajar during troubleshooting.
