What this MCCB carries and where it fits
The Siemens SENTRON 3VM1080-3ED36-0AA2 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) in the 3VM frame, rated for 80 A continuous at 40 °C and carrying a breaking capacity class N — 76 kA at 240 V AC, 53 kA at 415 V AC, 32 kA at 440 V AC, and 7.5 kA at 500 V AC. The TM210 thermal-magnetic release provides fixed overload protection at Ir = 80 A and a fixed short-circuit pickup at Ii = 10 × In (800 A). This is a line-protection (LI) device, not a motor-protection breaker; it goes into distribution panels, switchboards, and feeder circuits where the load is cable or bus, not a motor starter. The box-terminal front connection suits standard panel wiring.
Thermal derating and ambient limits
The 80 A rating holds flat from 40 °C to 50 °C. Above that, derate linearly: 78 A at 55 °C, 77 A at 60 °C, 75 A at 65 °C, 74 A at 70 °C. Operating ambient range is -25 °C to +70 °C; storage from -40 °C to +80 °C. Maximum power loss is 26 W. The IP40 front protection means the breaker is suitable for enclosed panel mounting — not for washdown or outdoor exposure without a secondary enclosure.
