The Siemens 3VM1116-3EE46-0AA2 is a 4-pole IEC frame 160 molded-case circuit breaker rated for line protection with a TM220 thermal-magnetic trip unit. It carries a breaking capacity Icu of 25 kA at 415 V, putting it in breaking capacity class N — suited for downstream distribution in industrial panels where fault levels are moderate but still require a robust interrupt rating. The overload protection is adjustable: Ir from 112 A to 160 A, and the short-circuit protection Ii is fixed at 10 x In (1600 A). The neutral conductor is unprotected, and termination is via standard terminal connections.
The 3VM1 frame 160 mounts on a DIN rail or panel base inside a standard distribution enclosure. The 4-pole configuration with unprotected neutral is common in TN-S or TN-C-S systems where the neutral is bonded at the source and does not require overcurrent protection downstream. The adjustable Ir band (112–160 A) lets you dial in the exact load current without swapping trip units — useful when the same frame size serves multiple feeder ratings across a line.
