Integrator note: what the ratings mean for fit
The Siemens 3VM1150-3EE42-0AA0 is a 4-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) with a TM220 thermal-magnetic release. At 40 °C it carries a continuous 50 A; the rating holds flat through 50 °C, then derates to 49 A at 55 °C, 48 A at 60 °C, 46 A at 65 °C, and 45 A at 70 °C. That thermal curve matters for panels with poor airflow — if your enclosure ambient hits 55 °C, you lose 1 A; at 70 °C you lose 5 A. The adjustable li max tops at 500 A for short-circuit pickup. Breaking capacity drops from 76 kA at 240 V to 53 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 12 kA at 500 V — so at 480 V systems (common in North America) you're interpolating between the 440 V and 500 V figures, roughly 20–25 kA available. The 690 V rated insulation voltage (Ui) covers most industrial line-to-line systems. IP40 on the front means it's protected against tools and small wires but not moisture — mount inside a sealed enclosure for washdown areas.
Panel integration
Footprint is 101.6 mm wide (4 in), 130 mm tall (5.1 in), 70 mm deep (2.8 in). Four poles in a single block — fits standard DIN-rail or panel-mount MCCB cutouts. No motor drive or communication module option on this variant (no comms, no motor drive), so it's a straight line-protection device. Neutral protection is not built in; specify a separate N-protection module if your system requires it. The TM220 release is factory-set but field-adjustable for thermal and magnetic pickup — verify the li setting before commissioning.
