Line protection MCCB with TM220 release
The Siemens SENTRON 3VM1180-3GE42-0AA0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection, carrying 80 A continuously up to 50 °C ambient and derating to 74 A at 70 °C — the full thermal curve means no guesswork when the panel runs hot. Breaking capacity climbs with voltage: 76 kA at 240 V AC, 53 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 12 kA at 500 V — that spread covers most industrial LV distribution boards without an upstream current-limiting fuse. The TM220 thermal-magnetic release provides fixed thermal and magnetic trip settings; no voltage trigger, undervoltage release, or communication module is fitted, so it stays a straightforward, no-adjustment branch breaker.
Thermal performance and panel fit
At 80 A the maximum power loss is 19 W — modest enough that standard DIN-rail or base-mount spacing in a ventilated enclosure handles the heat without forced cooling. Dimensions: 130 mm high, 101.6 mm wide, 70 mm deep. The 4-pole width (101.6 mm) matches the standard 4-module MCCB footprint for panel cutouts and busbar layouts. Front protection is IP40 — suitable for enclosed distribution boards; not rated for washdown or outdoor exposure without an additional enclosure.
