MCCB with 121 kA interrupting capacity at 240 V
The Siemens SENTRON 3VM1220-4EE46-0AA2 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 200 A continuous current at 40 °C, with a TM220 thermal-magnetic release providing LI (long-time and instantaneous) protection. Its headline interrupting rating is 121 kA at 240 V AC — that is the fault level it can safely clear without welding contacts or venting arc gas into the panel. At 415 V it still holds 76 kA, and at 500 V it drops to 17 kA, so the voltage on your bus determines how much fault current this breaker can handle. The frame is sized for up to 250 A maximum, meaning you can swap the trip unit later if the load grows within that limit.
Thermal derating and panel fit
The breaker holds its full 200 A rating up to 50 °C ambient; above that it derates linearly to 176 A at 70 °C. If this breaker sits in a hot enclosure near other heat sources, use the 55 °C row (194 A) or 60 °C row (188 A) for your continuous load calculation. Front connection via box terminals, IP40 on the front — standard for a panelboard or enclosed switchboard installation. No auxiliary contacts come fitted (0 CO contacts), so if you need remote status signaling, plan a separate auxiliary switch block.
