The SENTRON 3VM1225-4EE36-0AA2 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) from the 3VM line, designed for line protection with a TM220 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release. Rated 250 A at 40 °C, it holds that current flat through 50 °C before derating to 223 A at 70 °C — useful for panels running warm near transformers or drives. Breaking capacity scales with system voltage: 121 kA at 240 V, 76 kA at 415 V, 53 kA at 440 V, and 17 kA at 500 V AC. That 121 kA figure at 240 V covers high-fault industrial services where the utility transformer is close; the 76 kA at 415 V handles most European 400 V distribution without an upstream current-limiting fuse. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, and the unit dissipates 57 W maximum under full load — a factor for enclosure thermal budgeting if several breakers are ganged in a small panel. Front IP40 protects against tool entry; the body is not sealed for washdown.
Dimensions and panel fit
Width 105 mm, height 158 mm, depth 70 mm. The 105 mm width is a standard 4-module footprint on DIN rail (each module 27 mm) — it occupies four adjacent slots. Depth at 70 mm leaves clearance for rear busbar connections in a standard 200 mm deep enclosure.
