Shunt trip for SENTRON 3VM — what it does, where it fits
The Siemens SENTRON 3VM9908-0BL33 is a shunt trip (auxiliary release) designed for the 3VM molded-case circuit breaker family up to 630 A. It trips the breaker remotely when you apply 208–277 V AC (50/60 Hz) or 220–250 V DC to its coil — standard for emergency-off, interlock, or supervisory control circuits.
Mounts directly into the 3VM breaker's accessory slot — three slots are available on the breaker, and this unit occupies one. Dimensions are 25.7 mm wide × 65.1 mm tall × 31.2 mm deep, so it stays inside the breaker envelope; no extra DIN-rail space needed. Stripped length for the coil wires is 10 mm (0.4 in).
Coil power draw
Maximum apparent power on AC is 40 VA; maximum active power on DC is 35 W. That's the inrush to hold the solenoid — your control transformer or DC supply needs to deliver that peak, not just the steady-state rating of the breaker's aux contacts.
