The Siemens 4EM5007-7CB00 is a single-phase commutating choke (line reactor) designed for use with converter drives. It limits the rate of current rise and reduces harmonic distortion on the AC line feeding the converter. The inductance is 0.0022 H with a 2% relative inductive voltage drop. The DC-rated current of 24.5 A gives headroom for the non-sinusoidal current waveform typical of a converter's input stage. Total power loss is 36 W (17 W coil + 19 W iron core), all dissipated as heat; factor that into your enclosure ventilation.
Mounting and connection
This is an IP00 device — no enclosure, no protection against contact or dust. Dimensions are 0.115 m deep, 0.097 m wide, and 0.111 m high. Terminals are screw-type and tab connections, sized for the rated current. Thermal class B per IEC 60085 means the insulation system is rated for a 130 °C maximum hot-spot temperature. The 40 °C ambient temperature rating is the reference; derate for higher ambient or if mounted in a confined space with restricted airflow.
