What this choke does in a DC bus
The Siemens SIDAC 4EM5105-3CB00 is a 1-phase smoothing choke (Glaettungsdrossel) rated for 5 A DC maximum, 4.5 A DC continuous, with 0.08 H inductance. It sits in a DC link to reduce ripple current and limit di/dt on the bus — common in drive or power supply circuits where the rectifier feeds an inductive load. The 600 V operating voltage covers most 400 VAC three-phase rectified DC buses with headroom. Rated for 40 °C ambient with thermal class B insulation (IEC 60085), so it handles a 130 °C hot-spot limit without derating at that ambient. Power loss splits between the coil (20.3 W) and iron core (0.54 W) — total 20.84 W dissipated into the panel air. IP00 means no enclosure; mount it inside a cabinet that keeps fingers and debris off the windings.
Panel fit and wiring
Footprint is 0.097 m wide × 0.111 m tall × 0.129 m deep — roughly 97 × 111 × 129 mm. That's a compact block for a 5 A DC choke; it fits on a sub-panel or DIN-rail adapter plate. Terminals are screw-type or tab connections (screw/tab terminals), so you can land ring lugs or fast-on tabs directly. No parallel winding option — single-winding only.
