What this choke does in a VFD line
Its job is to smooth current draw, reduce harmonic distortion, and limit inrush current — protecting both the drive's DC bus capacitors and the upstream supply. Rated at 8.6 A continuous on a 400 V AC, 50 Hz line, the 5.1 mH inductance delivers a 6 % relative inductive voltage drop at rated current, which is the typical sizing target for drive input chokes.
IP00 and panel integration
The IP00 protection class means this is an open-chassis component — no enclosure, no touch protection. The screw-type terminals for the main circuit accept standard power wiring, and the 0.178 m width × 0.153 m height × 0.105 m depth footprint fits a typical sub-panel or backplate layout alongside the drive and input filtering.
Thermal class and ambient limits
Rated for 40 °C ambient with thermal class B insulation per IEC 60085. That is a 130 °C total temperature rating — standard for a choke in a ventilated enclosure. If the panel ambient runs hotter, derate the continuous current or force airflow across the choke body.
