Commutating Reactor for Converter Duty
The Siemens 4EP4010-0ES00 is a 3-phase commutating reactor designed for converter applications, rated at 400 V AC with a maximum current of 265 A and a rated current of 239 A at 50 Hz. The inductance is 0.12 mH with a relative inductive voltage drop of 4.3%, sized to limit harmonic currents and reduce commutation notches on the line side of a variable-speed drive or DC link. Power loss at rated load is 50.3 W, all of which is dissipated from the coil; thermal class B (130 °C rise) per IEC 60085, with a rated ambient of 40 °C.
Mounting and Connection
Mounting dimensions: 0.219 m wide, 0.179 m tall, 0.143 m deep. Main circuit connections use screw-type terminals, per the datasheet. Verify lug size and torque against the terminal markings before terminating stranded or solid copper.
