Three-phase line choke for drive harmonics and transient suppression
The Siemens 4EU2552-7GA00-0AA0 is a three-phase line choke rated for 350 A continuous current with 0.7 mH inductance per phase. It's designed to sit on the input side of a variable-frequency drive or inverter, smoothing line harmonics and limiting current transients during switching events. The IP00 open-frame construction and flat-type terminals mean it mounts inside a cabinet — not in a washdown or outdoor location — and connects via busbar or cable lugs, not a plug connector.
The 350 A continuous rating (Ithmax) sets the maximum RMS current the choke can carry without exceeding its thermal limit at 40 °C ambient. For a drive application, size the choke so the drive's rated input current stays at or below this figure — oversizing reduces core saturation risk but increases voltage drop. The 0.7 mH inductance per phase provides enough impedance to attenuate typical 5–10% line notching from a six-pulse rectifier; for longer motor cable runs or weaker utility grids, a higher inductance value may be needed. The choke complies with EN 61558-2-20, the standard for small transformers and chokes — this covers basic insulation, temperature rise limits, and short-circuit withstand. It does not carry a UL or CSA mark in the evidence, so verify local code acceptance if the panel ships to a North American site.
