The Siemens 4EU3022-4BA00-0AA0 is a 3-phase commutating choke for converter applications, rated 500A AC maximum at 400V and 50Hz. It limits the rate of current rise (di/dt) during thyristor or IGBT commutation, protecting the converter's semiconductors and reducing harmonic stress on the DC link. The 44µH inductance and 4% relative inductive voltage drop are tuned for this duty — the choke absorbs the commutation energy so the converter's own snubber circuits don't have to.
The 450A AC rated operational current is the value at which the 4% inductive voltage drop is guaranteed; if your converter's RMS line current exceeds 450A, the voltage drop across the choke will be higher than 4%, which may reduce the available DC bus voltage. The 612.7A DC rated current tells you the choke can handle the DC-side ripple current in a 6-pulse rectifier — useful if you're sizing for a drive with a high DC-link ripple component. The 220W coil loss plus 92W iron core loss total about 312W of heat to vent; in an IP00 enclosure, that means forced airflow or a generously vented cabinet is required.
