What it is and what it does
The Siemens 4EU3022-6CA00-0AA0 is a 3-phase commutating choke — a line reactor — designed for the DC link of a converter or drive. It smooths current ripple and limits di/dt during commutation, which protects the converter's semiconductor switches and reduces harmonic distortion feeding back to the line. Rated for a continuous current of 201.6 A (224 A maximum) at 750 V AC, 50 Hz, with an inductance of 0.00025 H. The 4% relative inductive voltage drop at rated current governs voltage headroom across the choke.
Where it goes and how it mounts
IP00 open-frame construction means this choke has no enclosure — it mounts inside a panel or cabinet where the ambient stays clean and dry. The flat-type terminals accept bus-bar or heavy cable lugs; plan for bolted connections, not spring-clamp wiring. Footprint measures 0.3 m wide by 0.211 m deep by 0.269 m tall. Combined copper and iron losses total 208 W plus 151 W.
Thermal class and operating conditions
Rated for a 40 °C ambient with Class H insulation per IEC 60085 — that's a 180 °C hot-spot limit, so it can handle sustained overloads and high ambient temperatures inside a crowded panel without derating prematurely. The DC-rated current is 274.5 A — useful if you're applying it in a DC-link circuit rather than the AC line side. The 0–50 Hz operating frequency covers standard 50 Hz mains and variable-frequency drive output up to 50 Hz.
