It smooths line current, limits harmonic distortion, and protects the drive from grid transients. Rated for a continuous 283.5 A with a 315 A maximum, it handles the full rated current of a large VFD without saturating. Operating voltage is 690 V AC, 50/60 Hz, so it suits 400 V and 690 V class drives in European and Asian industrial mains.
Thermal and mounting reality
IP00 means no enclosure — this is an open-frame component meant for a cabinet or panel where the reactor gets its own cooling air. Total power loss is 440 W (290 W coil + 150 W iron core) at 40 °C ambient, which has to be vented out of the enclosure. Class H insulation (180 °C rated) gives headroom for overloads and high ambient temps, but the 40 °C ambient rating is the design point — derate above that. Dimensions are 0.35 m wide × 0.321 m tall × 0.237 m deep. Flat-type terminals for the main circuit — expect busbar or large cable lugs, not spring-clamp wiring. This is a heavy, bolted-down component; panel layout needs to account for its footprint and the clearance around it for heat dissipation.
