It carries a continuous rated current of 516 A at 480 V AC, 50/60 Hz, with an inductance of 0.14 mH (140 µH) and a relative inductive voltage drop of 6 % at rated current and frequency. That 6 % drop is the standard sizing for a line reactor — it limits di/dt and harmonic current without dropping so much voltage that the drive bus sags under load.
Thermal design and enclosure
Rated for a 55 °C ambient with thermal class H insulation (180 °C hot-spot limit per IEC 60085), so it handles the heat inside a crowded drive cabinet without derating at that ambient. Total power loss splits into 640 W in the coil and 400 W in the iron core — about 1 kW of heat to vent. The IP00 open-frame construction means it mounts inside a panel or enclosure that provides its own finger-safe cover; there is no integral housing.
Termination and approvals
Main current connections are flat-type terminals (bus-bar or cable-lug style), sized for the 516 A path. The choke carries UL and CSA recognition per EN 60289, so it is accepted for North American panels that require listed components.
