Its C-curve tripping characteristic means it handles inrush currents 5–10× the rated current before tripping — the standard choice for motor and transformer branch circuits where the starting surge exceeds a B-curve's tolerance. For a machine-tool panel fed from a transformer with a known 12 kA fault level, the 15 kA rating provides the headroom without cascading upstream.
Voltage and duty coverage
Rated 400 V AC and 60 V DC. The 2-pole series configuration breaks both legs, clearing DC arcs that a single-pole cannot. The 75 °C maximum matters when the breaker sits near heat sources — a transformer or drive in the same enclosure — without derating. The -40 °C floor covers unheated outdoor cabinets in cold climates.
Protection class IP20 with connected conductors, IP40 in the handle range. The IP20 body is standard for enclosed panels; the IP40 handle area means the toggle is protected against tools ≥1 mm diameter. Sealable — a lockable cover over the toggle prevents unauthorised switching, required in safety-isolation circuits under lockout/tagout procedures.
